Our Standards

Greenwashing is out there! We know it, and we also know that as a consumer, sometimes it’s hard to get all the details before making a purchasing decision. So we take the guesswork out of the equation by vetting companies that want to be included in the directory up front.

To ensure businesses, products, and services involved with GoGreen are taking acceptable measures, we ask for documentation on their sustainability practices and goals and their environmental impact. This step is required for inclusion in the Go Green Web Directory.

While many in the marketplace are taking steps to go green, and are thus propagating real change in their various industries, some businesses are still learning to walk this path (green and greener) while others are experienced leaders (the greenest!). GoGreen is here to unite Massachusetts consumers with all businesses that are truly going green.

For businesses, the process can be expensive in the short term. As consumers, we reward these businesses for their efforts. And while individuals should ensure that the green businesses they support are taking acceptable measures, all of the green, greener, and greenest businesses listed on GoGreen Web Directory have been vetted.

What does GoGreen ask businesses that apply for a listing?

Members present their companies’ backgrounds and missions, sustainability goals and practices on our Sustainability Questionnaire, which covers the following areas:

How do businesses Join GoGreen?

All approved listings may choose to upgrade their status and become a member of the GoGreenWebDirectory.com. Members receive GoGreen’s elevated directory advertising, social media promotions, and word-of-mouth and networking perks and can take advantage of discounts offered exclusively to GoGreen members, such as for events and promotions.
